Derek has worked in the NDIS space for over two years, both as a Behaviour Support Practitioner and as a Psychologist. Previously, he also worked as an ABA therapist and research assistant.
During his studies, Derek gravitated towards developmental psychology and psychopathology. As a result, he has developed an interest with assisting and managing children’s mental health and behaviours. He believes working with the young population is where we can see the most growth, change and potential. His interests extend to young adults who belong to the same generation as him due to the various shared interests and upbringings.
Currently, Derek would like to develop his competency with diagnostic assessments. In the future, he hopes to learn niche therapeutic models such as interpersonal therapy, schema therapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprogramming (EMDR).

(M.A. (Education,1st class hons); P.G. Diploma in Educational Psychology.
Jennifer gained her qualifications at the University of Auckland before working in schools as an Educational Psychologist. She is a registered Educational Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychology Board, and an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS.
Jennifer has worked for over 20 years in Australia with children and adults with disabilities and behaviour problems in a variety of roles.
Jennifer’s special area of interest is the autism spectrum, where she has the lived experience of being the mother of an autistic son. She has seen for herself the benefits and the power of persistence that comes from comprehensive and sustained early intervention. One of her great pleasures is coaching parents of newly-diagnosed children, and teaching them about the huge potential each child has within themselves.
Jennifer maintains a keen interest in current research in autism, and her current foci include the neurodiverse-affirming approach to working with autistic people, a child-focused approach to understanding the need behind the behaviour. She follows the work of Dr Ross Greene in collaborative and proactive solutions to behaviour support.
Jennifer strongly believes in in working with the child and family within a holistic framework. She also understands the extra stressors on families of those with a child or children with special needs.
